Trent Thompson is a former American football defensive tackle who played college football at the University of Georgia. He was highly rated coming out of high school and was considered one of the top defensive line recruits in the nation. Thompson was a key player for the Georgia Bulldogs during his collegiate career, earning All-SEC honors and being named a Freshman All-American.

After his junior season, Thompson decided to forgo his senior year of eligibility and enter the 2018 NFL Draft. He was selected in the fifth round by the Cleveland Browns but struggled with injuries and was eventually released. Thompson later signed with the Minnesota Vikings and has also had stints with the Arizona Cardinals and the Indianapolis Colts.
